iOS devices keep apps that you may not be using open in the background unless you close them from the multi-tasking tool. Here is a tutorial on stopping app running in the background on your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch.

Location Services is Apple’s management tool for GPS. The GPS for the device can be on/off, in addition to any applications that may have the ability to use Location Services.
Select “Settings” from your device’s home screen
Select “General”
Select “Location Services”
Check that the top slider for Location Services is set to “on”

Each iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), Apple’s version of a serial number, a sequence of 40 characters (letters and numbers).

Here’s how to troubleshoot the message: “ERROR: Failed to retrieve a valid data service name, please contact RedShed”.

Here’s how to troubleshoot the message ” ERROR: Failed to authorize against web service, please contact RedShed”.
Reason: The only reason this error message appears is because your username and/or password are entered incorrectly.
Here’s how to fix it:
From the Settings screen,
Completely delete (and re-enter) your username and password information (usernames and passwords are case-sensitive)
