Apple frequently releases free software updates for your device that you need to download to continue running the latest applications.

Updating is easy. Just connect your device to your Mac or PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes.

Connect your device to your computer using the data cable you received with your device.

Uninstall an iOS Application from your device (iPhone, iPad, iPod)

To delete an app (application),  press and hold one of the icons (it doesn’t matter which one) -until all the icons bounce slightly

Closing an application in multi-tasking

Managing iPhone Location Services

Location Services is Apple’s management tool for GPS.  The GPS for the device can be on/off, in addition to any applications that may have the ability to use Location Services.

Select “Settings” from your device’s home screen
Select “General”

Check that the top slider for Location Services is set to “on”

How to find your device’s UDID

Each iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), Apple’s version of a serial number, a sequence of 40 characters (letters and numbers).

How to Download an iOS Application from your Computer/iTunes (iPhone, iTouch, iPad)

If you don’t already have iTunes, install it:

Enabling GPS on iOS (iPhone, iPad, iTouch)
